PlotWatt offers an immediate, feature-rich alternative for many hardware platforms (and several more in the works). For example, tons of users of The Energy Detective TED5000 are already PlotWatt customers: http://www.theenergydetective.com/google
We invite any and all PowerMeter users to join PlotWatt today: PlotWatt.com.
I'm glad I found you. Like most people I've been using Google Powermeter with my TED 5000... oh well. Have you guys considered writing a widget for the iGoogle homepage? I use that all the time, and would make plotwatt even more useful than having to login to the website every time.
ReplyDeleteQuantumbyte,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feature suggestion. It's a great idea. We'll see what an iGoogle widget would take and let you know if/when it becomes available.
Do you have an API to retrieve data from your servers? I've done javascript widgets for solar production plotting and it's not too tough.
ReplyDeleteEric,
ReplyDeleteGreat question. An export API is in the works. Can you tell us a bit more about what you have in mind? How would you like to use such an API?
Hey, sorry I didn't follow up sooner. If there's an API to export data, it'd be relatively trivial to write an osx dashboard widget, or igoogle gadget, which just graphs out your daily usage over time...
ReplyDeleteWe've recently received some questions from users asking about new features in work (including things like the export API & iGoogle widget above). We're in the midst of big back end development that is opening the door for some super cool new features. As these new features launch, please use the "Feedback" button on your PlotWatt Dashboard to tell us what you think!
